Hakau Recipe

Hakau is a type of Chinese food such as shrimp in flour and then give way to cook by steaming. Glance looks like a dumpling, but this way of eating hakau is to use tomato sauce or spicy chili sauce. Ingredients Content:

  • 250 gr medium shrimp, peeled
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Shrimp Marinade Ingredients:

  • 2 teaspoon corn starch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
Ingredients Skin:
  • 80 grams flour
  • 50 grams of corn starch or rice flour
  • 125 ml hot water
  • 3 tablespoons cooking oil
Method:
  1. Contents: Marinate shrimp peeled with baking soda, salt & corn starch. Let stand for 1 hour and keep refrigerated. Rinse clean & drain back up. Mix the shrimp with corn starch, salt, pepper, soy sauce, sugar and sesame oil, stir well. Knead briefly and set aside
  2. Skin: Mix flour about Mien with corn starch or rice flour and stir well. Enter the hot water, use chopsticks to mix, stir and knead until smooth. Elliptical shape so, basting with oil. Cover with plastic wrap or towel
  3. Cut dough with a size of 0.5 cm. Fill with 2 pieces of shrimp, fold so the form hakau
  4. Steam for 15 minutes. Lift, basting with the cooking oil
  5. Serve warm with a hot sauce bottle
